  1. Hello. Apologies for the delay. Have you tried temporarily disabling the firewall on the remote computer?
  2. Hello. Unfortunately, there is no search option for manual-entry custom fields. One solution would be to create a table report with the custom fields and search in it. After finding the assets that contain the queried value, you can locate them in the Network tree and edit them one by one or together (in the Multiple selection mode). Another solution would be to store the serial number or other information in Notes. This way, you can filter the Network tree by note contents using the assistant, tick the assets that you need to edit and then mass-edit their values.
  3. Hello, Thanks for your message. Using TSD, you can deploy Powershell scripts or batch files. It should be possible to remotely install fonts this way. You may look up solutions for this on the Internet. There are no special functions for font deployment in TSD.
  4. Hello. Please clarify what do you mean by 'records': snapshots or other scanned assets. Consider sending us a few screenshots displaying the program behaviour at support@softinventive.com. Regarding this, pay attention to your storage settings in Edit - Storage properties. These settings define whether snapshots are deleted and how assets are merged.
  5. Hi. It's possible to scan remote computers if they connect to your network via VPN or share the same VLAN, and if it's possible to reach shared resources of each workstation. Otherwise, you can install TNI on each remote site and access it remotely via remote desktop utility to perform the scan and to save the scan results to a Dropbox folder (or any other folder that allows the files saved in it to be available to you). After that, you can gather all the information in your HQ, where it can be imported to the main storage. You can configure the auto-import feature that will gather the information from the shared folders into the main database. Currently, we are working on an improved version of the scanning agent that will be able to send the collected information to you by email or FTP. This update will be released very soon.
  6. To address the 'No open ports for supported protocols' error, please check your firewall settings referring to our FAQ page: https://docs.softinventive.com/tsd/faq/#Port-numbers You can try temporarily disabling the firewall on one of the computers to make sure this solves the problem. Check the following for some of the problematic computers using the same credentials as you specified in TSD: Is it possible to open \\{computername}\admin$ in File Explorer (to access the admin$ folder on the other computer)? Is it possible to access {computername} from services.msc (right-click - Connect to another computer)? Also, let us know what brand of antivirus is installed on these computers.
  7. Please clarify if you are scanning a domain or an IP range. Try rescanning one or several of these Windows computers by IP address or short hostname (make sure they're online) and let us know the result.
  8. Hello. On your screenshot, we can see the result of network discovery. At this stage, the discovered devices cannot be identified by TSD yet, therefore they have the icon with a question mark. Please let us know what errors you receive after starting the scan (clicking the Start scan button on the left panel). Please note that only devices running Windows OS can be successfully scanned and added to the network storage in TSD.
  9. In those cases - when your Office product is missing from the drop-down list - you need edit the Product ID field in the Configuration file manually (click the Advanced icon). To find out whether your version of Office is supported by Click to Run and what ID to use if it does, please contact Microsoft support, and let us know the result.
  10. Hello, Stefan. We've not updated the documentation with this information yet, but it's coming soon. Here's the short guide: 1. Download the Office Deployment Tool for your version of Office. 2. Launch it and save the Click-to-Run setup.exe to the folder of choice. 3. In TSD, add the newly created setup.exe to the Software storage as a multi-file installer by ticking the checkbox and specify the path to the Office distribution folder (if you don't have the distribution, the folder where the Click-to-Run setup file is). 4. In the Software editor, click Configuration to expand the settings and configure the XML using the panel or manually (click the icon on the right for Advanced). Set a comfortable timeout for the installer. 4a. If you don't have the distribution files, make a test run with the /download parameter: the files will be downloaded to the Software storage. The same timeout value will be used. 5. Deploy using parameter /configure. Please let us know if you have any questions.
  11. Hello. Right now, there is now way to accomplish this in TNI. We will consider such a feature if it becomes a popular request. You can store license information in special fields of your custom assets or as notes.
  12. Hello. Thanks for your message. We're still working on the support for Microsoft Office deployment (we expect it to be ready by the end of January). Update: MS Office support was added in TSD v1.1.0. See our blog post.
  13. Hi. Could you elaborate? Do you want to add the same custom field for every device of the same type?
