cstanphill Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Does TNI have to install a EXE file on each server it’s scanning? We have a customer that will not allow us to do this. Thanks Quote
Support Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 TNI has two connection methods: agent (SMB protocol) and agent-free (RPC protocol). Agent method is preferred and is the default one, because it generates less network traffic. Besides, the service is uninstalled and executables are removed from the scanned computer after the scan is made, so no traces are left. But if you are absolutely not allowed to upload any executables on the target machines, you can disable the agent method. Open "Options - Connection", and in the "Connection method" groupbox select "Agent-free connection (RPC/DCOM)" option and uncheck "Try another method" option, and you're done. You can find more information in our documentation center. Quote
