Nerdie Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I have downloaded a trial version of TNI v1.6.7. When I ran TNI, one of our very important services was killed for no reason. The killed service is for auto replication of data from one of our Sybase relational database running on Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere v9.02. Why was the service killed? Quote
Support Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Our apologies for the inconvenience, but that's probably a coincidence which has nothing to do with the program. TNI doesn't touch any services except its own. The service that it installs for the scan and uninstalls after the scan is named "TNIHelperService" (display name "Total Network Inventory Helper Service"). It also makes use of the following services: Server, Windows Management Instrumentation, Remote Procedure Call, Remote Registry, but in any way it doesn't try to change their state. P.S. You have provided some information about the service in question, but have not included its name... Quote
