mmatheny Posted January 24, 2008 Report Posted January 24, 2008 Have gotten this a few times upon first startup. If I click OK, go to Options/Storage and click Test availablity, it passes. Same thing under Audit agent. The software and data files are stored on a local HD. Quote
Support Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Really, default path is relative to the program's executable location. If you have installed the program to "C:\Program Files\Total Network Inventory" and data storage path is "Data", then it's actually located in "C:\Program Files\Total Network Inventory\Data". You can set another path in Options if you'd like to. Quote
mmatheny Posted January 25, 2008 Author Report Posted January 25, 2008 Why do I get this error every time I run the program? It is installed in d:\program files\total network inventory, and the data folder is under there! Quote
Support Posted January 25, 2008 Report Posted January 25, 2008 Which error? Please provide the text of error (you can press Ctrl+C in the error window in order not to retype the text). Quote
mmatheny Posted January 28, 2008 Author Report Posted January 28, 2008 The subject is the error! Quote
Support Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 I'm sorry, I have mixed up something (I thought it were your own words and not the error text). This error concerns the path under "Audit agent" options. Obviously, you have the option "Load new and updated files at each startup" on this page enabled, and the path specified there is relative. It passes the test because that folder could actually exist, but it was not intended that audit tool folder will reside in the program's installation directory, thus it refuses to get there during actual update. So to remove this error, you would need to set this path to be absolute (starting with "\\" or "X:", where X is your drive letter). Quote
mmatheny Posted January 30, 2008 Author Report Posted January 30, 2008 Thanx - do I need to change it in the Storage section to be an absolute path also?? Quote
Support Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 No, it's not necessary, it works well with any Storage path. Quote
