Default printer not showing or incorrect

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm having exactly the same issue with our network of 22 computers (the default printer is not correctly identified on approx. 1/3 of them). So far I haven't seen any issues with other peripheral devices - just with information returned on which printer is selected as the default. Virtually all our computers are XP Pro, SP2 based.

I checked the wbemess.log file in the \system32\wbem\Logs directory & this appears to be a consistent error message everytime I run TNI on thes particular computers:

NT Event Log Consumer: could not retrieve sid, 0x80041002

I'm not sure if that even has anything to do with this specific problem, but so far they are the only issues I've has with the software.
