BenDog
I needed to see the default printer, but noticed it was wrong on one machine and doesn't show what it thinks is the default on others. Am I doing something wrong? Quote Link to comment
Support
The program relies on information provided by WMI. So obviously such was the information. Are you sure that you didn't mix up anything? Quote Link to comment
BenDog
Oh, I'm sure. I tested on a specific computer that I know what the default printer is. I even went into the printers list on Windows XP on that machine and it's a different default printer than what is shown in TNI. Quote Link to comment
wsomcher
I'm having exactly the same issue with our network of 22 computers (the default printer is not correctly identified on approx. 1/3 of them). So far I haven't seen any issues with other peripheral devices - just with information returned on which printer is selected as the default. Virtually all our computers are XP Pro, SP2 based. I checked the wbemess.log file in the \system32\wbem\Logs directory & this appears to be a consistent error message everytime I run TNI on thes particular computers: NT Event Log Consumer: could not retrieve sid, 0x80041002 I'm not sure if that even has anything to do with this specific problem, but so far they are the only issues I've has with the software.
