Jaban Posted May 23, 2013 Report Posted May 23, 2013 I recently bought TNI for my company, and created a group policy to have it create a snapshot every time a user logs in. It's been running for a few days now, and I have several snapshots for each computer. However, I see no way to compare differences or generate a report to compare differences between two (or more) snapshots. Example situation: John Smith calls me and says MyJavaApp was working last week but it isn't working now. Let's say he has upgraded Java JRE 7u17 to 7u21, but I don't know this... fortunately, TNI runs daily and the fact that he's updated it shows up in the snapshots. That's great if I know what I'm looking for, but it'd be much more useful if I could generate a report that highlights the differences between two snapshots. Maybe I'm missing something? Quote
Support Posted May 31, 2013 Report Posted May 31, 2013 Hi Jaban, This is a common situation and we understand your concern. However there is no snapshot comparison in the program yet. We plan to implement snapshot comparison and change tracking in the future versions. Please stay tuned for the updates. Quote
it@trinidadrancheria.com Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 HURRAY! This feature is now added as of version 3.1.0! Quote
Miri Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 The latest version (TNI 3.1.0) now has exactly the feature you seek! In the special Change log mode TNI compares snapshots and presents you with the comprehensive list of changes in software and hardware. You can read more about it in our blog. Quote
Support Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 In addition, we will be looking to add a possibility to compare any two specific snapshots without seeing individual changes for the intermediate snapshots (as it is now). Quote
