    Hi Beano,

    Well, this is not a bug, so nothing to fix. I would rather say this is a feature that needs to be added.

    You're right, this was discussed, but I've only said that it will be available in future versions, and not in the next update (see this post). Unfortunately I still can't say when exactly this feature will be added. Stay tuned for the updates.

    P.S. Next time please update the old topic instead of posting a new one.

    Thanks,

    For me its a lot of work to find the real name so thats very needfull.

  2. I see. Well, that field in custom information section was introduced for manual entry (Edit - Edit selected node - User information). Now we know that it's possible to get that information from Active Directory, but this will be possible in future versions only.

    Thanks, I can't wait till the next update ;)

  3. Whose name do you mean? Please explain.

    Example we have a user called "John Doo" which use as logon "jdo"

    TNI only let see the username of the last logon Not the realname. Now i have to figure out which logon which real name is.

    I see the item Real Name in TNI but its allways empty.

    Regards,

  4. Please contact us at support@softinventive.com and send us several XML files which produce different errors (preferrably in an archive), for analysis.

    As for the shares, why do you need so many? The program only uses two data folders:

    1) "C:\Program Files\Total Network Iventory\Data (by default), its location can be changed in "Options - Storage". This is the main data folder where the program works.

    2) Audit tool folder (set in "Options - Audit agent") where "tniaudit.exe" should place the files it generates. The folder where "tniaudit.exe" stores the files is set in "tniaudit.ini" file, in the "savepath" parameter. This parameter should point to the same folder which is set in "Options - Audit agent". In this way, the program has a possibility to look for new and updated files when you press "Tools - Refresh audit tool folder", and then update the files in main data folder.

    Thank for the quick reply.

    Strange

    Why does it make a \data folder in the share, it changes the ini file by himself.

    scandelay=0

    savepath=\\bsiserver\tni\userdata

    after some logons it changes back to a default value

    scandelay=60000

    savepath=\\bsiserver\tni\audit\data

  5. Hi,

    I have a numerous XML file errors with different kind of errors

    corrupted: please scan again

    corrupted: the name start with a unkown sign

    corrupted: element is not closed

    Even after a client logon, the problem remains and the corrupted xml still exist.

    It works with a logonscript, but see and have several maps

    1. xml storage in the program files\tni\data (is this one only for scan purpose ?)

    2. share \\servername\tni\userdata containing xml f(collecting via the TNIaudit.exe ?)

    share name \\servername\tni\audit\tniaudit.exe (call from the logonscript)

    What causes the corruptions ? I installed the last update.

    Collecting data from TNIaudit.exe is a very slow process, is this correct ?

    regards,

  6. You can search in tabular reports with Binoculars button, or Ctrl+F and F3 keys. Also, it's possible to search in printable reports with the same button.

    To find a computer which has particular software, you should select "Reports - Tabular reports - Software and licenses", then you right-click necessary software title and select "Show computers which have this software".

    Great......thanks

  7. Hello Beano,

    We've tried to shutdown a machine with TNI agent running, and we've seen no messages. Can you catch its contents? And what is the setup for agent - is it run manually, from the script, or scan is made remotely from the administrator module?

    Thanks for the quick reply,

    Running from a logonscript

    start \\server\tni\audit\tniaudit.exe /scripted

    The setup

    scandelay=600000

    savepath=\\server\tni\userdata

  8. Hi,

    Sometimes when a client computer shutting down a error message appear regarding the TNI agent. I Think the agent was busy collecting things.

    I prefer that users don't know and see that message. Is that possible. So shutting down no message appear ?

    Thanks,
