Yes, that would work fine for backups too. Not a problem at all to do a recursive backup.
-
That sounds great! It will take up less space as well. Will they still be individual files? I'd like to know so I know if I can use the same backup method.

Hi, been a while since I been on, but I like what I'm hearing. Will it be XML or some other format?
-
AVG however does not.
-
Well, email me if you want me to test! :)
-
Well, let us not reveal all the cards for now :)
Oh, and here I'm thinking you're talking about 1.6.6 but you weren't!
Well if you need any beta testing, just let me know. *hint hint* :)

Well, there are some significant changes coming which we need to finish, so we can't start implementing this at once. I think this feature can appear in 1-2 months.
Sweet! Like what?

Hey ass, don't go spamming MY threads!!!! What's wrong with you?!
-
you mean those 15+ Win 98 computers which i have for repairs don't fit into my business environment? that's my business, zak, and it seems that now tni doesn't fit into my needs any more. i'll check the competition though.
Hey, it's not very nice to talk to support that way. Win 98, the same with '95, is a consumer OS and based on technology that can't easily be scanned. Some competition may scan it, but 99% of the time you'll need to either do what Zak said or at least install something manually on the machine first. I can scan NT4 computers and that OS is even older than Win 98. So GOOOOOOOOOD ef-ing LUCK!

ack! who uses Windows 98 any more? they should be shot :)

I think we just like to bug people. :)
-
yeah also with the agent. I almost use that exclusively.
-
Can you add hard drive temperature? thanx!
-
you can go under here C:\Program Files\Total Network Inventory\Data and change one of the filenames to the right name, and then open the xml file and replace the old name with the new one. I've done that.
-
except it takes less time without the agent, using pure wmi. ?
-
you're right. I didn't read your previous post close enough. please forgive!
-
when will people learn?
-
we have all types of drives, ide, sata, scsi, but tni shows scsi for sata and it's a bit confusing. will this bug be fixed?
-
I think agentless is just a buzzword that causes a lotta headaches.
-
doesn't it already have "try other method if one fails" turned on by default? Coz if so, it should already be trying the agent. ?
-
any reason why it takes over 2 min. to scan my xp64 bit tho?
-
I just accidently dragged one of those around and it really messed things up. Does anyone out there ever care to move the toolbars around? they don't look good any other way than the default.
-
why yours of course! true dat! :)
But! why not make the window a little bigger to show all the infos?

I know they changed to using a MAC address because they were having problems with duplicates when a computer name changes. When you change out a motherboard, almost everything changes about the computer, even the serial number. If they went back to using the computer's name, they'd have more duplicate issues than using the MAC address. Not sure there's a solution to this. Something has to give, you know?
