Nope. Got the message again. Happens during the auto-ping.

Happened a couple times again. Seems to occur at random during the timed Pings. Just set compatabilty mode to XP SP3, we will see if it resolves.
XP sp3 mode seemed to fix this. If I try XP sp2 mode, the program crashes on startup :P

Also, do those online status indicators in the network tree work correctly for you? We've had some reports that they showed incorrect information sometimes.
I have had some stay gray. A manual re-ping did not clear it up, but restarting TNI did.
-
Please explain your second question, as I'm not sure what do you mean by full scan, and when do you get no username.
The normal timed ping doesn't get the user name logged in. I have to do a RESCAN to get the user name logged in.

While the program is sitting (I presume it is doing aperiodic ping) I get the following error message:
Error: Access violation at 0x7512CB49 )tried to read from 0x00000000), program terminated. LastCP is 'RF'.
Ideas?
OS: Win 7 64-bit.

Anyone?

HURRAY! This feature is now added as of version 3.1.0!

What is the difference between
asynchronous engine
nmap engine
classic engine
in settings/general/check the online status page?
Also, I noticed that to get the username logged in to the computer, I have to do a full scan. Do I have a setting wrong?
Thanks!

I noticed that when you fire up TNI, the stats on the group summary page for online / offline does not get updated until you either click another node and back, or click another tab and back. It also does not update when you right click the node and select ping until you do the same. (screen shot):
Here is what it looks like when I click another tab and back:
Also, on the subject of ping:
A: How often does TNI ping, and is this period something I can set?
B: Feature request: Right next to online status at the top of the screen, last ping time.
Is there a full doc of all the commands available for setting up custom actions?
Overall, I LOVE this program! We ran it for a day and immediately purchased it. THANKS!! :)
TNIWINAGENT.EXE is missing
in Total Network Inventory

I too am having the same issue, with no virus scanner on the server that hosts TNI. Start a scan, the executable disappears!
I reinstalled, copied the executable over from this thread, and tniwinagent.exe exists. I run the scanner, it disappears.
After testing a few times, I found what is happening: As soon as TNI starts the scan, it deletes the file.
Temporary fix: Right click tniwinagent.exe and hit properties. Mark it as read only.
