I am currently using Total Network Inventory with a PostgreSQL database, which works well and is essential for my environment.

However, Total Software Deployment does not support any SQL database and relies only on local file-based storage. Because of this limitation, TSD cannot be integrated into the same centralized infrastructure as TNI.

For my use case, centralized database support (e.g. PostgreSQL) is a key requirement. Without it, TSD unfortunately does not make much sense for me, even though I own a valid license.

I would like to ask whether support for PostgreSQL (or another external SQL database) is planned for TSD in the future, or if there is any recommended way to achieve centralized storage and multi-user access comparable to TNI.

Five years ago, you mentioned that this functionality was planned, but as far as I know, it still hasn’t been delivered. I would truly appreciate it if it could be prioritized.

I’ve managed to set up Windows updates myself using TSD and custom scripts — it works great! However, the lack of a deployment queue is a significant limitation for us. We manage over 1,700 computers, and handling deployments manually is simply not feasible at that scale.

Thank you for considering this feature — it would make a huge difference in our environment.

tried reinstall but still not work.

I'm not able to save Macros (the save button is greyed out and can't be pressed) even though the Installer completed the installation. I also can't pause the recording for some reason.

I have a problem deploying a software through Macros. I have already registered the Macro, but when I deploy it, the TSD log hangs waiting the installer window where the first step has to click on "Install" button.

What is wrong?

Is there an workaround?

I would like ask you about new feature:

Now if we want deploy some SW and the WKS is offline, we must check it manually when will be online so we can install. It is very time-consuming and very infefficient. The new feature will automaticaly check the status of the WKSs. If the WKS will be online, that the deployment will start fully automaticaly.

ich bin ein Anfänger mit dem Programm TSD. In unserer Firma gibt es ca.250 Windows Client PC's von Windows XP bis Windows 10.

Das TSD-Programm läuft auf einem Windows 2008 R2 Server.

Bei einigen PC's tritt folgendes Problem auf:

Wenn zwei PC's nacheinander gescannt werden, erscheinen keine 2 Assets sondern nur ein Asset.

Man erkennt, dass das zweite Asset in den ersten Asset integriert wurde => siehe Dateigröße von 52kb (Datei wurde ebenfalls umbenannt).

Bei einem manuellen (lokalen) Scan sind die Dateien nur ca. 26kb groß.

TSD ist der Meinung, dass das Asset schon existiert. Es sind aber zwei physikalisch getrennte Systeme.

Wie kann das sein ?

Hat jemand einen Rat ? Danke für Eure Hilfe.

I was wondering is there a way to install fonts on network client machines using TSD? 

I'm a beginer on Total Software Deployment.

I have a trouble on computer scan. Indeed, when I run the scan process, I get some devices appearing with a question mark on them.

I would like to know to fix that problem, cause when I start the scan on question marked computers, it always fail.
